All seats provide ergonomic support, and the first two rows have three heating levels. With cinema-style seating and plenty of legroom, even the third row feels spacious for people up to 170 cm tall.

Adjust the cabin layout by folding down rear seat backrests individually or in rows. They fold flush with the floor, adding flexibility to the cabin and extra space for cargo.

There’s storage for your things under the upholstered armrest of the centre console. There’s also a little storage space under the roll-top cover, plus cupholders for two beverages and a slim can.

Everyone has a cupholder within easy reach. Second-row passengers have cupholders in the fold-down armrest, and there are also cupholders in all third-row armrests.

The third-row armrests and rear side panels have a hidden compartment for stashing small items. Passengers in the first two rows have spacious door bins, too. They’re big enough to hold a 1.5-litre bottle.

The panoramic roof in the XC90 stretches from the windscreen to behind the rear seats, flooding the cabin with natural light. The dark-tinted laminated glass helps reduce glare and noise inside the cabin. It also strengthens the glass for added security.

Press a button on the front-row ceiling console to open the roof and let fresh air flow inside. If you forget to close it after parking, do it remotely with your key fob.

When the sun gets too intense, roll out the power-operated sunshade. It’s a perforated textile that lets in light to keep the cabin bright but not overheated. You can set it to automatically deploy when temperatures reach 25°C.

11.2-inch centre display
Control navigation, entertainment and driver support functions from the free-standing 11.2-inch centre display. Its anti-glare touchscreen means maps, media and more are displayed with crisp readability, even in full sun.

The display is designed to help keep your attention on the road. Its vertical orientation shows more of what’s ahead when navigating.

A fixed menu on the bottom gives you quick access to the home screen, climate controls and car settings.

It’ll also serve shortcuts to the most-used functions like drive modes, the 360° camera, recent apps and Google Assistant. The display will only prompt relevant actions, whether you’re parked, driving or on call.

12.3-inch driver display
Get driving information exactly how you want it on the 12.3-inch driver display. Choose from two views to suit your driving style. Calm shows speed and basic navigation prompts. Navi adds a detailed map.

Head-up display
Opt for the head-up display to keep your eyes on the road even more of the time. It projects essential information like speed, speed limits and navigation prompts directly onto the windscreen so they appear to hover over the bonnet. There’s less need to look down or shift your gaze.

The display stays crisp and clear whether you’re driving through a tunnel or after dark. You can also adjust the brightness and position to suit your preferences.

Five drive modes
Use the centre display to select one of five drive modes. You can toggle between them without returning to settings.

Hybrid
Prioritises electric power. It only activates the petrol engine to maximise efficiency on longer trips. 


Pure
Enables quieter electric driving without engaging the petrol engine at all.

Power
Combines both engines, delivering sporty performance and continuous all-wheel drive.

Off-road
Enhances traction on rougher terrain and provides better control on challenging surfaces.

Constant All-wheel Drive (AWD)
Enhances traction in slippery conditions and improves grip when towing and on icy roads.

Personalise your drive with Google built-in, a range of helpful apps available with unlimited data as part of your free digital services package.

Google Maps can help you plan the most efficient route for your plug-in hybrid car. It can also locate nearby charging stations. Filter by speed, price and payment options.

Digital services
Use Google Maps, Google Assistant and any app downloaded on Google Play Store with unlimited data for four years. This digital services subscription is included with the purchase of a new Volvo car. A fee applies after four years.

Child seats and locks
Child seats can be installed in any of the three rear seats with ISOFIX anchorages in the outer positions.

Integrated child seats
When your little ones outgrow their rear-facing child seats, they can transition to the built-in booster cushion in the centre of the second row, which supports a proper seatbelt fit and comfortable seating.

Mechanical or power child lock
The standard mechanical child lock on the rear doors can be upgraded to a power child lock. It lets you control the rear doors and windows directly from the driver’s seat.

Child safety recommendations
